The students in Dr. Ritter's first grade class at Ridge View Elementary participated in the 500 Book Challenge. During this challenge, each student is provided books from the classroom library to read at home. The students log the books read at home to earn prizes. For every 100 books read, students are able to pick a prize out of the prize box, spend the day with Matilda the guinea pig, and earn a special "I Love Reading" prize. Students who reach 500 books earn a personalized trophy and a book challenge t-shirt.
This school year, eight students in class read 500 books!
