February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month

Why is it so important to get the word out about CTE? These stats say it all:

93% – Average graduation rate for high school students concentrating in CTE programs .

63% – Proportion of American jobs that will require postsecondary credentials by 2018, which can be obtained through CTE.

16% – Average increase in annual earnings of a CTE graduate as compared to a traditional high school graduate, eight years following graduation .

As these numbers above show, CTE is a key strategy that helps students engage in their education and navigate the workforce.

Students who attend are taking the first step towards earning a first class high school diploma and starting the path to a fantastic career certification program.

Our programs are dedicated to ensuring each student’s readiness for college and careers.  Warrensburg Area Career Center has a selection criterion, and those students who are accepted will become a part of a school with proud alumni who excel in a variety of fields.  This month we thank Chilhowee, Crest Ridge, Holden, Kingsville, Knob Noster, Leeton and Warrensburg school districts for allowing us the opportunity to teach and train their students who attend Warrensburg Area Career Center.
