Attendance change beginning 2013-14—Excessive absences will be defined as five or more absences in any one class or full school days within one semester. Students exceeding the number of days may possibly not be able to make up classwork and potentially lose credit for the class(es) impacted. Additional information may be found in the WHS Student Handbook under the Attendance Policy section.
Changes Coming to WHS 2016
Major (exciting) changes are planned for our next semester. When our students return from their Winter Break, our school will look a little different. The construction of our new security entrance, office areas, and science labs will be in their initial stages. Attached you will find a map indicating the new traffic flow upon our return on January 5. Students will enter the north parking lot to park their cars and parents will be dropping of their children on the south end of our school.
Our main entrances/exits will be barricaded, allowing entry only at the north and south ends of the building. The temporary security entrance will now be located at the southeast doors (parking spots will be available with a 15 minute time limit) allowing entry to visitors or for parents to pick up or drop off students, or to drop off items for their child.
We will certainly have to work out the kinks as we plan and we welcome your feedback. While it will be less than ideal to work through the obstacles presented us during the construction process, the excitement of our new facility will far outweigh the inconveniences. We thank you for your patience and flexibility.
