The Warrensburg R-VI School District Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2011-2012 Classroom Impact Grants. Fourteen grants were awarded for a total of $9592.00. Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded grants directly to teachers as a way to positively impact the achievement of students and reward innovation in instruction. Over $96,000 has now been awarded through the Classroom Impact Grant program.
Teachers receiving grants for 2011-2012 are Dan Richner and Julie Lewis at WHS; Holly Jennings, LuAnn Stillwell, and Brooke Mannering at Warrensburg Middle School; Susan A. Smith at Gateway Educational Center; Elaine Sargent, Heather Wallace, Karla Hinnah, and Melissa Larimore at Sterling Elementary; Clay Heishman at Martin Warren Elementary; Alisa Collier at Maple Grove Elementary.
Three grants were awarded through special gifts.
Stephany Wasson, Maple Grove Elementary, received a grant given in memory of beloved South East school secretary, Mrs. Maxine Myers.
Kathie Appleton and Wendy Marr, Ridge View Elementary and Susan Nelson, Maple Grove Elementary received their grants through a special gift to support innovative literacy programs for the classroom.
