The mission of the Warrensburg R-VI Student Success Team (SST) is to ensure that underachieving students enrolled in the district receive quality support services which will enable them to meet with success. The district wants underachieving students to have the same opportunities whether it is in academics or extracurricular activities, and provide these students with a foundation that will help make them functioning and contributing members of a community and society.
IF YOU ARE A PARENT, STUDENT, OR COMMUNITY MEMBER YOU CAN GET INVOLVED... ASK US HOW
As a volunteer team, we believe all children can succeed, and failure does not have to be an option. The goal of the SST is to serve as achievement advocates for underachieving No Child Left Behind (NCLB) identified groups. As school and community advocates for these children we hope to:
· Understand how underachievement affects the teaching/learning process
· Help students expand their knowledge and experiences
· Create an atmosphere where differences are respected and explored
· Communicate integrity, validity, and success
· Draw upon their own personal experiences as meaningful and include them in authentic, and relevant dialogues about goals for success
· Adapt interaction and practice to accommodate varied learning styles, build on students' strengths and avoid judgments that might negatively impact the achievement gains of students
· Increase and improve parents knowledge and comfort levels about how to help educate their children at home
