  You must sign up and pay the enrollment fee before the first night of class.  Enrollment ends one day prior to the first class unless otherwise specified.  Checks will not be cashed until the class meets.

ADULT PROGRAMS

COSMETOLOGY

Starts:  August 2011 to May 2012
Instructor: Pat Higgins

Classes are held during the day Monday through Friday.  Adult applications are being accepted until March 1st at 3 PM or until the class is full and testing will begin in January 2011.  After March 1st applicants will be place on a waiting list.  Call (660) 747-2283, email Carolyn Chambers cchambers@warrensburg.k12.mo.us or stop by the WACC office at 205 S. Ridgeview Drive, Warrensburg, for information and an application.  You may also get information and an application by clicking on the Cosmetology link on the left side of this page.  and At the end of the program students will take a Missouri State Board exam for licensing.

 

PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM

Starts:  August 2011 to June 2012
Instructors: Rori Schreiman, Dana Smith and Debbie Stark

Certified Nursing Assistant
C.N.A.s are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding residents.  They also provide residents with social and emotional support.

Certified Medication Technician
CMT's , while working under the supervision of a nurse, will administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related medical records.

Insulin Administration
Prepares medication technicians in a skilled or intermediate care facility or medication aide in a residential care facility to administer insulin.

Certified Feeding Assistant
You will be instructed in feeding techniques for assisting in feeding and hydration, safety and emergency procedures, and infection control.

Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is the art of extracting blood for medical testing or transfusion. Phlebotomists learn how to draw blood expertly from just about anywhere, such as the heel and scalp in infants. Our goal is to give each student the knowledge and practice required to successfully perform in this field. We seek to give our students the skills necessary to not only obtain a job but to advance in this highly important occupation and to have the necessary knowledge to set for their certification.

Restorative Nursing Assistant
The RNA acquires special knowledge, skills and techniques in therapeutic rehabilitation as prescribed and supervised by licensed personnel.
