Wow, Google is 19 years old today. It's their birthday, but you get the presents! Try out the birthday spinner for fun games and a blast from the past: You can also read about the history of Google, get information about the annual Doodle for Google contest, see how far in the world today's doodle has reached, and view past birthday celebration doodles. Wow, a new website and now a new app! The Warrensburg SD mobile app has been updated with a new look and new links. Plus, you can select your school upon start up (or set up later in settings). The design is best viewed in portrait mode rather than landscape, and content is updated when the district website is updated. For iPads with automatic updates turned on, the app should already be the new version. For devices using Google Play Store to install apps, the SD app will need to be re-installed. Happy Apping!

Wow, a Website of the Week, and it's not even Wednesday! Lot of teachers and students are catching the #flipgridfever, but did you know Flipgrid is more than recorded responses? There are lessons, expert presentations, explorations, adventures, and more. The next Flipgrid Explorer series will start September 18 with an explorer from Midland, Texas who excavates fossils… in a murky river! The pre-knowledge topic is open now. Happy Exploring and Happy Friday!

Wow, three weeks in already! Things are going smoothly, but sometimes you may need to find your "happy place," or at least a quiet place-- a place to vent, rant, or just think. Amanda from Martin Warren found this great site for kids (or adults) to "vent" what is bothering them.  "I find it is a good tool for your kids that are really emotional or angry to calm them down and let things go.  I hope this can be of use to someone!"   Note: you may want to turn your computer's volume down or off because even though the thoughts room is on the quiet place site, there is music that plays automatically when entering.   Thanks to Russell for the share.   Happy venting!

Wow, there's a lot of tech tools out there! If you've ever wished for several different displays, or a way to show multiple items on your computer screen, especially when using your projector, this week's W.O.W. is for you. Classroom Screen gives you the ability to show a random name picker, a calculator, a timer and clock, a stoplight, drawings (like a mini whiteboard), and much more-- even QR codes-- all on one screen to help you manage your resources and class time. Complete with instructions (and even videos), Classroom Screen will be your go-to classroom helper from now on! Special thanks to Russell for the find from ISTE Resources. Happy Screening!

Welcome back to W.O.W.! If you've ever wanted to send your students on a wild goose chase, this week's site (and app) lets you create a scavenger hunt for your class complete with missions using text, photos, and videos, even GPS. Using the GooseChase website, you build a series of missions from templates or from scratch, set a password (or not), and determine how long the game will run. Students then select the game on their app and follow the instructions to receive the allotted points. They may be submitting a photo or video, checking-in at a specific location, or solving a puzzle or riddle. "Missions change from game to game, but the fun and excitement will always be there." Terrific to use for team building activities, school or classroom tours, collaborating on a difficult lesson, or a gaggle of other ideas. Happy Chasing!
